Halloween Decor
My husband and I took a trip to Texas to visit my family. While I was there my sister was putting out just SOME of her Halloween decorations. She goes all out for the holiday. Here is a glimpse of her mantle, kitchen table, and dining room table. Closer to Halloween you will find a graveyard in the front yard and creepy silhouettes of cats, ghosts, mice, spiders, and even the outlines of Gothic window treatments in her windows. My next Halloween craft will be the silhouettes to place in our front window. It's about time for me to get into the spooky spirit!

Mini Bedroom Makeover
The other day while the hubs was at work I got a brilliant idea, give the bedroom a makeover! We have had our green bedding since we got married, almost 2 years ago it didn't seem very cozy or inviting anymore.
First thing I did was gather some supplies. I ran and got some candle holders from the thrift store, fabric & ribbon, candlesticks from the dollar store, and a window sheer and flowers from wally world.

Second I got to work on the candlestick holders and gave them a couple coats of white spray paint. While those dried I got to work on the pillow covers (the same from this tutorial.) This was my first time adding a fringe and I think it turned out pretty well.
The little pillow actually just got flipped over and tied with ribbon.
To tie things together I took off the duvet cover, hung the sheer, tied ribbon around the tie backs, added flowers, and threw some fabric in an old frame and Ta Da...mini make-over for under $30!

Under $10 Under 1 Hour Linkup
Today I'll be linking up a couple of my past projects at 320 Sycamore for her little party. Go check out some awesome thrifty projects!
In other news, my charger for my laptop bit the dust yesterday, RIGHT AFTER I uploaded a bunch of pictures of my mini bedroom makeover that I was all excited to share. Rather than paying 80 bucks for a Apple charger, I'm going the cheap route and ordering one through amazon. So while I am waiting for the beloved charger the blog will be on hiatus. Today I'm blogging from my hubby's laptop and I can't stand the darn thing! Everything takes me twice as long, and while typing this little paragraph I have hit the "=" about 20 times instead of the delete button. You can imagine my frustration.
Well then, adiós till sometime next week when I have a working charger again, and my laptop has more than 28 minutes of life remaining in it.

Express Headband, Revisited
Remember this post from a month or so back? Well the pictures were pretty bad (took them at night and learned my lesson). I snagged a couple good ones outside the other day and decided to trade some out.
This really cute Express Headband caught my eye the other day while shopping. One glance at the price tag...$19.50, and I kept walking. But as things do, I kept thinking about how cute it was and what outfits I would wear it with. So I looked at another pic online and got to work.

I picked up a 5-pack of skinny plastic headbands in brown and black at the Dollar Tree and some black ribbon at Walmart for I think $1.47 each roll. So for less than 5 bucks I was determined to make a similar headband.
I used a sheer and satin ribbon for a little more texture. I lined them up on top of each other and gather the pieces by hand til I had the right length and gather-age. With the ruffle done, I took the satin ribbon and made a loose rosette to put at one end.

Once those were done I just hot glued the ruffle and rosette to the band...and DONE! I have a new headband I plan on wearing to church this week!

Whoops!
Well I blame my 9hr work day for causing me to drop the ball again. No things I love Thursday...the suspense will just have to build til next week. In the mean time here is a picture of our adorable growing puppy. Hey! He is a thing I love, success!

Halloween/Fall Wreath
I wanted to make a wreath that was Halloweenish, but could still be used all through the fall as well. I guess an understated Halloween design. I grabbed a wreath form, ribbon, cupcake holders, and my glue gun and got to work.
I'm a little afraid it ended up looking like an old stuffy wreath, but I love how the colors look together, so because of that it will be hanging proudly on the door for the next couple of months.
*You'll be seeing this at these lovely blogs.

Things I Love Thursday
I love flowers!...they brighten up any room, and any mood. I think my house feels much more fresh and cheerful when I have flowers out and about. So grab some flowers from your garden or the super market and add a PoP of color to a room!
